How Rent Reporting Works:
Rent reporting is an auto-enrollment program and leverages the work you already do as a property manager when collecting rental payments. You continue doing the work you do today by collecting rent payments from your residents and entering them into your property management system.
From there, there are two methods for how Esusu performs the Rent Reporting depending on how the property is set up:
Integrated Clients (Yardi, Realpage, Entrata, MRI, RentManager, Resman):
- Esusu automatically pulls the rental payments for that month through our integration (API) directly from your property management software
- Once the data has been pulled, Esusu then packages the rental payments into a report which is then sent to the credit bureaus (TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax)
- After the credit bureaus have received the file, they will process it and once that is completed, your residents will see the payments applied to their credit report
Non-Integrated Clients (CSV):
- A report (CSV) will be generated which will contain the rental payments for your residents within that month and it will be uploaded to the Esusu CSV portal
- Custom Reports: Boston Post (TBD)
- Once the report has been uploaded, Esusu will process the data and package the data into a report which is sent to the credit bureaus (TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax)
- After the credit bureaus have received the file, they will process it and once that is completed, your residents will see the payments applied to their credit report
Your residents can decide to not participate in the Esusu Rent Reporting program by reaching out directly to our Rent Support team at rentsupport@esusu.org. Also, residents that are missing key information in their payment data will also be omitted from rent reporting, the fields that are required for rent reporting are as follows:
- First/Last Name
- Date of Birth (DOB) and/or Social Security Number (SSN)
- One of these two fields is required by the credit bureaus to perform Rent Reporting
- Contact Information (Phone/Email)
